Bio
Jennifer Schumacher Waller grew up on the West Coast and received her BFA from Louisiana State University with a major in ceramics and a minor in photography. She was the resident artist for the St. Tammany Public Library for 15 years, studied at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Truro Center for the Arts at Craft Castle Hill, Mendocino Arts Center and held residency at the International Artist Residency Exchange in Saint-Raphael France. She has led art workshops and taught art classes all over South Louisiana, online and in public and private school. Jennifer received a Post-Baccalaureate in 2024 from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and is working on running her community ceramic studio - Claywork.shop
Classes
Beginning wheel-throwing pottery will teach you the basics of centering, opening, pulling walls, trimming and preparing your piece for the bisque (first) firing. We then cover the basics of glazing your piece for finishing. Keep practicing and building in our continue classes.
